Songbook Academy Housing

About Fairview House:

Fairview house is a state-of-the-art, 633-bed, student residence hall at Butler University offering amenities ranging from laundry centers on each floor to media lounges and social spaces.

Fairview House is composed of several different room types. A suite, referred to as a “pod”, houses groups of 6 or 8 residents in primarily double bedrooms (i.e. most students will have a roommate). Single bedrooms are available for students with specific accommodations requests (please express accommodations requests in the registration process). Students share a bathroom with 1-2 other residents and all bedrooms open to a shared common space and kitchenette.

The pod kitchenette/living space includes:

  • a microwave
  • small fridge
  • sink/counter space

Your dorm room will contain the following items:

  • twin bed
  • desk
  • dresser (4 drawers)
  • closet (per resident)
  • linen bundle (2 twin flat sheets, 1 pillowcase, 1 pillow, 1 bath towel, 1 hand towel, 1 wash cloth, and 1 thermal blanket)

Please note: Based on past feedback noting the cold temperature of the dorms/quality of linens, many students prefer to bring their own linens and/or pillow for comfort. We understand due to travel, this may be difficult, so please do not feel like this is a requirement. We only wish to pass this feedback along from past students and families!
