About The Soundtrack of the 20s/20s Exhibit:

This exhibit will compare trends in music and pop culture in the 1920s and 2020s - including how we purchase and listen to music, how music is produced, marketed and released, trends around types of popular music, how music has been impacted by racial and economic disparities, and how artists from Louis Armstrong to Billie Eilish made their groundbreaking impact in these two musical eras.

Highlights include:

  • Interactive music listening opportunities
  • Artifacts from the Songbook Library and Archives including composer Harold Arlen's piano and Grammy Award, handwritten lyrics and photos from the 1920s, historical recording formats and more!
  • A mobile device-friendly music quiz for visitors to personally engage in the exhibit experience
