Kyrie Courter, who participated in the 2013 Songbook Academy as a high school student from Chicago, is now a performer and content creator based in New York City. The Songbook Academy, which just marked its 15th year, brings together 40 talented high school students from across the nation for a week of workshops, masterclasses and performance opportunities that help participants hone their vocal and stage skills with an emphasis on song interpretation, while building friendships and professional connections for a lifetime.

“We could see how passionate and driven Kyrie was, even as a high school student,” said Christopher Lewis, executive director of the Songbook Foundation. “We’re so proud to see her achieving her dreams and inspiring future Songbook Academy alumni to continue their musical pursuits at all levels of the industry, including the Broadway stage.”
