About the Event
To celebrate Women’s History Month, the Great American Songbook Foundation will honor the trailblazing icons who took the variety TV genre to its creative zenith both in front of and behind the camera by hosting a screening event of the PBS special Showstoppers! Great Women of TV Variety.

WFYI Public Media is partnering with the Songbook Foundation on the event, which is part of the WFYI Live event series.
The City of Carmel provided support for this event via the Carmel Arts Grant.

Event Timeline
1:00 PM: Lobby doors open, costume exhibition on display
2:00 PM: Screening begins
3:15 PM: Screening ends (Panel Discussion/Q&A will directly follow the film)
Special Guests
In addition to the screening of the documentary, attendees will also be able to take part in a panel discussion following the event that features:
- René Reyes & Shane Rosamonda – Emmy-winning producers of the documentary
- Debby Boone – Grammy Award Winner and host of the documentary
- Holly Foster Wells – Granddaughter of Songbook Hall of Fame member Peggy Lee, who is featured in the documentary
Costume Display
In coordination with the event the Songbook Library & Archives will be presenting a unique display of costumes worn by Songbook Hall of Fame members featured in the documentary:
Along with being displayed on the day of the screening, the costumes will also be featured in a pop-up exhibit at Songbook Foundation Exhibit Gallery in the Palladium during the month of March as a celebration of Women’s History Month.
Songbook Foundation Support of the Documentary
The Songbook Foundation was proud to support the making of the documentary by providing access to collections and materials of some of the artists featured in the film that are housed in the Songbook Library & Archives. This included materials for Mitzi Gaynor, Diahann Carroll, Florence Henderson, and The Lennon Sisters.
Parking and Accessibility
Accessible parking spaces are available along the South Loop drive between the Palladium and the Tarkington and in the self-park garages.

The Tarkington lobby is accessible from street level and also via elevator from the attached garage. Access further venue accessibility information.
Wheelchair accessible seating is located in the front and back of the house. Aisle seats with moveable armrests to accommodate transfers are also available throughout the Tarkington. Guests with walkers will be able to “check” their walker in a designated parking area.
Assisted Listening
Assisted-listening devices are available free of charge on a first-come first-served basis and may be requested upon arrival by speaking with an usher or any Front of House staff.

- Bus Parking: Pre-arranged bus parking is available in the loading dock and on 3rd Avenue. The best location for bus drop-off is along 3rd Avenue SW near the West Lobby/Fifth Third Bank Box Office.
- Accessible Seating: Please note need for wheelchair accessible seating for group members.
