About the Event

Presented in partnership with Allied Solutions Center for the Performing Arts, the Great American Songbook Foundation presents a festive screening of the beloved holiday classic White Christmas, featuring the timeless music of Irving Berlin and iconic performances by Rosemary Clooney and Bing Crosby. With its unforgettable songs and heartwarming story, this film has become a treasured tradition for all ages.

We are honored to welcome Maria Ferrer Murdock, daughter of Rosemary Clooney, as our special guest for the event! Maria will join attendees for a special talkback after the screening, sharing behind-the-scenes memories and reflections on her mother’s remarkable career.

In addition to a special appearance and discussion with Maria, we’ve also collaborated with The Rosemary Clooney House to give attendees the rare opportunity to view unique artifacts from the film.

Drawn from the collections of the Songbook Library & Archives and The Rosemary Clooney House, this unique artifact display invites you to step behind the scenes of a true Hollywood classic—celebrating the artistry, craftsmanship, and timeless magic that have made it a holiday favorite for generations.

Some of the artifacts that attendees will have the chance to see include:

  • The rare transposing piano of Irving Berlin
  • A White Christmas promotional poster signed by Rosemary Clooney
  • Several original costumes from the film
  • Ornaments including two signed by Rosemary Clooney
  • Two green chairs from the iconic Columbia Inn from the film
  • A hat, pipe, and suitcase that belong to Bing Crosby
  • Rare snow globes with direct ties to the film
  • A set of three Hallmark dolls
  • Personal effects of the film’s choreographer Robert Alton
  • A variety of sheet music and arrangements used during the film
  • Yearbooks from several of the cast members
  • And much more!

After the event, many of the artifacts will move to the Traditions Senior Communities Songbook Gallery for a special exhibition during the month of December. Stay tuned for information on this special display and how you can view the items up close!
